Abstract

The case covers the renowned Canadian Ski Marathon and its strategy decision at a time when finances and ski marathon participation is at an all-time low. Board inefficiencies, poor panning and a lack of financing underly the situation. The case forces students to consider a wide range of factors from communication, fund sourcing, managerial roles, volunteerism, legal and historical imperatives.
