Social Responsibility And Corporate Performance Nexus: An In-depth Analysis Of Selected Firms in Ghana
Abstract
Potential benefits of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) acts seem to suggest that both corporate and societal challenges can be eliminated if all corporate organizations devote certain level of resources to CSR activities. For some decades, CSR has happened to be a central part of business practice (Servaes & Tamajo, 2013; Salzmann et. al, 2005). A growing body of research on CSR has revealed that several companies are devoting more resources to socially responsible activities (Grayson & Hodges, 2007). Conventionally, businesses have to emphasize on strategies for their operations. However, current developments in strategic thinking emphasize the need to attach activities that enlarges from the company to society (Margolis & Walsh, 2001).
