Urban Revival: Saving the Spatial Characteristics of the Through Destination Branding
Abstract
Representing a divide between a class of rulers and followers, the welfare provision system in the UAE, which includes housing, has been maintained and practiced along the lines of paternalistic principles. The UAE government allocated land for housing, offers interest-free loans, and provides non-refundable housing grants to UAE nationals (Emiratis). Categorically, the public sector assumes the responsibility of addressing the housing needs of Emiratis. Non-nationals or expatriates in the private sector assume the role of fulfilling similar needs. In terms of the population, the needs for low-income or affordable dwelling spaces for expatriates could be demanding.
